Chimney stacks, brickwork and party walls are often the cause of leaks, mostly due to lack of maintenance & care over the years. Loose masonry, bricks and render are often found to be hanging over front doors & gardens, a danger to anyone passing below. Large cracks in stacks and walls can act as an entry point for water ingress, once inside the fabric of the wall the water can cause damp and leaks.

We offer a complete service stabilising chimney stacks ie. loose bricks, flaunching, replacing chimney pots and installing metallic cowlings. We can also cut out decayed bricks replacing with new or facing off of bricks.

Walls and stacks can be re rendered using stainless steel belcaste, edge trims and rendering mesh. We normally apply 2-3 coats of mortar to the effected surfaces, sponging the top coat to give a tidy and uniform surface. The finished area can be painted with external products such as Weathershield or a water proof product with fibres such as white/grey/black Cromapol. This results in the wall being completely watertight and can normally be subject to a guarantee on completion.

Where chimney pots are open to the elements we can securely fit terracotta metal cowlings that effectively enclose the pot. The design makes them suitable for chimney that are being used for wood burners/central heating.
